Streets

The Truth or Consequences Street Department maintains the city’s transportation infrastructure through year‑round construction, paving, and repair work. The department is responsible for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, street cleaning, vegetation control, solid waste disposal, demolition, litter removal, and maintenance of small ditches and unpaved roads. Staff also install and maintain street and traffic signs and support special events and emergency needs.

The department contributes to major projects such as the Foch Street revitalization and other improvements outlined in the City Blueprint campaign. Crews are trained in pothole repair, storm drain cleaning, weed abatement, and other tasks requiring specialized tools. Their work supports safe, accessible, and functional roadways throughout the community.
